It didn t always keep my interest I ust didn t feel like I was reading a new captivating story Honestly I almost gave up on it but I m glad I stuck with it because it did get better Right away the writing style and narrative voice reminded me
of lemony snicket s series i love aLemony Snicket s series I love A of Unfortunate Events but I d rather have a fresh new voice than feel like I m being reminded of somebody else Some reviewers said this was an MG version of Six of Crows but I haven t read that yet to know for sure If you have read it then this I m a sucker for a fun cover so I ve been dying to read this book for a while So when I saw it on sale I scooped it right up along with the second book for a steal And I am sooooo glad that I did It was such a fun read Carter is Samurai Commando Samurai Commando Mission 1549 just the sweetest main character and I adored his moral compass so much Each character has such a descriptive personality that I can t but love all the protagonists The book itself is also extremely enjoyable littered with games funnyokes and great illustrations While I as an adult enjoy middle grade books I think an actual middle grader will really like this book too It s ust so fun
